Why is it nearly impossible to find good quality lightweight rayon camp shirts with elbow length sleeves in dark (or even medium) colors other than black? Or in summer prints with black backgrounds? David Dart used to make these shirts (at outrageous prices), but they're not available anymore. I've been looking for years! Most manufacturers seem to think that plus size women want to wear heavy clothes or unflattering white clothes in the summertime.

Catalog lengths are for sizes 28/30. How do I find the length on size 12 clothes? This is preventing me from ordering several items I like, I need to know the length for my size, not size 28..

I hope you'll include more knee-length casual wear skirts and scooter skorts (especially in denim). I don't wear shorts in the summer but love a scooter skort.

You need to start offering more items with fabrics that include some stretch. I am disappointed that your clothes are not following the movement/trend of other companies that are adding a bit of stretch to their fabrics. Plus-size women need materials that are a bit "forgiving".

Also, I'd like to see tops that are elbow-length, pajamas sets that have cropped bottoms and bermuda lenght bottoms.

Also, your colors not flattering. Few large women look good in the sherbet and pastel colors.

My recommendation to you is to find some hip designers who understand what plus-size women want, with forgiving stretchy fabrics, good cuts, practical-yet-stylish designs, and sensible colors. Thank you!!!

I would love to see more tall sizes! Tee shirts and blouses longer than 32 inches! Pants longer than 32 inch inseams! Please! It is so hard to find clothes for Big and Tall Ladies!

I'd like to see more basic suits without all the bells and whistles something for work: black, navy, gray, camel, burgundy.

I see lots of comments about having stretch in more things - and I agree - BUT some companies that do stretch seem to make those items smaller to start with, I guess figuring that they'll stretch enough for you to get them on - the trick to stretchy stuff for plus sizes is for them to fit like non-stretch when you are standing up, nice lines, not clingy - but be able to give/stretch when you bend or sit -
next, I can tell you're a European company by the shades that you use so much - nobody can be wearing as much olive as you offer - that is a very unflattering color for most people -

I see what looks like nice basic stretch black slacks in the new Fall catalog and I'm planning to order some, but the other two colors you offer are magenta and olive! - what about navy and brown?

what happened to the nice rayon tees with the satin trim neckline - you offered them for several years in many many colors and they go great under jackets/suits/big shirts -

and ditto ditto ditto on the sparkles and embroidery stuff - that retro hippie bohemian trend came and went very quickly, thank heavens -

and my last snarky comment today is - tapered slacks never never never never look good on a plus size woman - I don't care how many descriptions you write in your catalog trying to convince people that they look sleek or something - they do not - anything tapering down to your ankles just points your eye right up to the bulk above the ankles - in other words, where are the straight leg jeans?

thanks for offering this forum - even if you're never reading it, it makes me feel better to speak out - :-)

I don't understand why - if I measure myself according to the instructions - and then order the corresponding size off the size chart - I'm swimming in it - this has happended with tops and bottoms - I always have to exchange the items for the next size down. I really love your clothes and have ordered several items that are simply wonderful. I even re-measured - several times - Am I doing something wrong or is your size chart off? I'm learning to order smaller but it gets confusing.

I would like to see more offerings in the parisail cloth. They are so comfortable and fit without clinging. Black would also be nice.

Thank you for this website. I have been shopping with Ulla for many, many years. I used to travel to Maryland to try on some of the styles and sizes or sometimes just to 'touch' them to see what I wanted right away or what I could wait for til it was on sale. I was sorry to see that store close. I miss the dresses with dusters in darker colors. The better knits that you used to do. I do love the kimonos. I sometimes wish the jackets were longer. And I would love to see more dresses with more conservative necklines that can be dressed up or down with scarves or jewelry. Thank you for this wonderful service.

I am sooo frustrated! Today, June 5, 2007, I could not find one thing that I keyed in. Out of the 20 things that I wanted, in size 2, were absolutely not available. A month ago it was the same thing! Am I doing something wrong, or is the catalogue just for show?!

I looove your stuff, and would love it even better if I could get any of it.

I'm still waiting for some less frumpy styles from Ulla! Please! Must everything have ribbons, bows, sequins, or rhinestones (rhinestones, really?) What would be so bad about having some nice, classic, elegant styles?

And while I'm complaining, what's up with all the Capri and flood pants? You seem to be short on regular shorts and long summer pants. I'm short and I;m fat. Put me in your capri length pants that, BTW are too long to be capris but too short for regular pants and I look like Spanky!

I am 5'4" with a 28" inseam. Am I some kind of misshapen freak? Why do you only have one pair of pants here available in "short" length? I'm just not going to buy anything else from you that requires me to pay additional for alterations.

When are you going to update the website so that we can check order status online?
I have emailed customer service in the past and have received no response (other than the email from you informing me that you're going to respond.)

I've just found this blog after going through the summer clearance items--from the email I just received from you.
I have a zillion comments many of which will echo those already found here but I wonder if my comments will be read by anyone is a position to DO anything. I notice that the date on this post is April. It is now July. Does anyone from the company actually read this? Perhaps is was started by some poor intern who no longer works there? The first rule of blogging is POST, POST, POST!!

I agree with the woman who said she swims in your clothing. i ordered according to your size chart and i now have to send back every single piece of clothing. Your shipping costs are outrageous to begin with. Now I have to send the stuff back AT MY COST because your sizing chart is way off. I could save the $6.95 by getting smaller sizes. However, at this point im so annoyed I don't want smaller sizes. Also, when I ordered my clothing. I entered in a 15% discount that your site said was applied. I checked my credit card. The discount wasn't applied. I called your cs and had to argue the 15% discount. I had the code, I used it before the deadline. However when I called back it was the day after the deadline expired. She couldn't find the code I gave her. Finally she said she'd apply it to my account. I get all of the paperwork and the discount wasn't applied.

Doncha love it when companies start a blog and then just... forget about it?

I second anonymous' comment. More regular career suits in regular colors and regular suiting fabrics. More menswear fabrics, too. Especially, lets have some decent suits menswear-style light wools.

I'd be a happy customer if I could say "I need a new charcoal gray suit next week" and have a good place to find it. But, heck, I'd be a happy customer if you'd restock the pants that go with the expensive jacket that's still on your website.

Bah. Can anyone suggest other sites with better response times and decent suits?

Most of your clothes are just lovely....I especially like the longer lengths in the tops...34 to 36 inch tunics to cover..."things" that are imperfect. However, some the prettiest ones are trimmed in sequins and beads and shiney things. So I can't wear any of it at the office. So I'm back to plain old shirts and blouses. Please PLEASE leave the sequins off!! Embrodiery is great, trim is great....but sequins and rhinestones ruin your most beautiful tops. They're sharp enough without it.

I disagree about the sizing, I think if your stylish customers would take the time to educate re: your 'system,' they would be satisfied nearly every time, as am I. Note in the description of almost every item the qualifiers: "slim fit, relaxed fit, oversized fit." For those items I don't want nice & loose, I order down. For a T-shirt I want to be able to throw in the dryer, I might order larger, etc.
Anyway, the combo of size chart and actual description of fit is a great addition, I wish more companies would follow suit.

Do agree on the taper, LOSE THE TAPER.

Also agree about the stretch--I purchased many suits a few years ago when they all had stretch. Lately a couple of nice basic options--I think a tweed and a houndstooth--no stretch, so no purchases. Thanks to whomever posted, I agree the perfect fit for larger ladies is a nice line "standing" with enough stretch to have us sitting in comfort.
