I love the Ulla catalogs and i noticed a few pair of shoes that I love on some of the models. I was wondering where can I shop for them. Can you share? I love the Tribal Print knit dress and love the gladiator sandals the model is wearing. I would like to get the shoes and the dress.
thank you

Dear Anonymous:

You may have noticed that we are not currently selling shoes in our catalogs. This is about to change! Debuting in our Fall 2010 catalog (coming out in July) we will be offering shoes! We have been working very hard at finding the perfect shoes to introduce to our customers. So please look for them in our Fall catalog!
The shoes shown in the catalog were purchased from Nine West, however, this was about a year or so ago. You may want to check Zappos (www.zappos.com) for similar styles!
Thanks for your questions! I hope this helped.

I am new to Ulla. In your sizing what is the equivalent of a 2X? I get so frustrated when ordering on line. I am not used to shopping for my full 2X size. I will order from other companies and it takes 10 days to 2 weeks for items to arrive and within moments of opening the package I realize the item is too big or too small, and I have to start from the beginning. I am speaking for myself, please understand this, but I feel there is no way to make my overweight body look good in anything. I find no way to camouflage a big belly or big rear, so I tend to purchase very inexpensive clothes and I tend to feel uncomfortable in everything. Can you suggest an outfit for work and play that is sure to make someone feel and look good? I'm disappointed in Ulla's swimsuits. Size 12 (which is not a plus size) models look lovely in the one piece suits, but if I tried the same suit on I would see a big belly and a big butt stuffed into a piece of lycra. I would love to find a suit that doesn't make me feel embarrassed to be seen in. Can you show some plus sized models wearing the same suits the size 12 models are wearing - kind of like showing comparables when one goes house hunting? I would love to be a fan of your site because I'm finding there's not a lot out there for the larger size woman, and your clothing looks as though it's well made.
Thank you.

Dear Anonymous,
(response provided by Ulla Popken Quality Control, Joyce Maley)

I have total sympathy for you. While I'm not a fashion consultant on what looks good or not, I can tell you that I myself wear a 2XL or 18 (say from Penney's or Dress Barn woman) on top and I consistently wear a 16/18 top or dress in our sizes. Bottoms are a little trickier since my waist is larger and legs are thinner. If it's elastic waist and relaxed or full fit I can go with a 12/14. Anything else I need a 16/18.

I got the miracle suit 02919 in size 18. So I would think an 18 in the miracle suit would work for you also. The other suits ran a little smaller and you might want a 20. I dont have huge hips to hide, but at my age I like a skirted suit. It sounds like you are pear shaped, so I would suggest the bandeau swimdress 02918 or the tie front swim dress 02902, or the one i got (02919).

I hope this helps!
